THE NEW AGE will be funny, fun, heartbreaking, sexy, strange, mysterious, and queer as f***. Its primary vibe will be a grounded one, offering honest, authentic portrayals of its characters’ emotional lives, allowing them to be vulnerable and sloppy in ways that viewers can relate. But they’ll make you laugh too, particularly in ways that reflect the cultural flavors of the show’s Latinx and queer perspective, as well as the eccentric world of the store. The show will also flip this naturalistic mood on its head when it explores the Spirit World, adding mystical characters and fantastical landscapes into the mix.

Honestly, this show is going to be like the store itself: it may just look and feel like someplace you’ve never been before.  But soon enough, you’ll feel right at home.
